Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Your Legal Name or Company Inc. (Ontario, Canada), which operates Velvet Hour. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. Companions are AI

Every companion on Velvet Hour is a fictional character generated by artificial intelligence. Companions are not people, have no feelings or body, and can be wrong. They are not therapists, doctors, lawyers or financial advisers, and nothing they say is professional advice. Velvet Hour may not be suitable for everyone.

2. Adults only

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use Velvet Hour. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up and may suspend accounts we reasonably believe belong to minors.

3. Acceptable use

  • No sexually explicit content. Conversations can be friendly, flirty or romantic, but never graphic.
  • No content involving minors in any sexual or romantic context, and no non-consensual or violent sexual content.
  • No attempts to use companions to impersonate real people, harass anyone, or break the law.
  • No scraping, reverse engineering, or attempts to bypass safety systems or usage limits.

We may refuse messages, end calls, or suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Safety

If you mention suicide or self-harm, companions will stop role-play and point you to crisis services. See our Safety protocol. If you are in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.

5. Plans, minutes and payments

  • Free accounts get a daily message allowance and a one-time set of voice minutes.
  • Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel any time from Plans & billing; access continues to the end of the paid period.
  • Voice minutes are measured by our servers from the moment a call connects until it ends. Included plan minutes reset each billing period; purchased minute packs do not expire while your account is open.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. Cancellations, plan changes and refunds follow our Cancellation & refunds policy.

6. Your content

You own what you write. You give us permission to process it to run the service (for example, to generate replies and remember details you share). See the Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided "as is". We may change features, companions or prices with notice for paid plans. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may close accounts that violate these terms.
