Your AI companion, now on Telegram: texts, voice notes and calls

The short version

Nine Velvet Hour companions have their own Telegram bots, plus a main bot that matches you with one in three taps.
Text them, swap selfies, send voice notes (she answers in her own voice), and call without leaving Telegram.
It is the same account as the website: same memories, same history, same plan.
Free to start: 30 messages, then 5 a day once you add an email. Plans are paid in Telegram Stars.
Adults 18+ only. Every companion is an AI, and romance never turns explicit.

This post is about our own product: we make Velvet Hour. It explains how the Telegram version works and what it can and cannot do.

Most people already have a messaging app open all day. Telegram passed a billion monthly active users in 2025, and for a lot of them it is where their real conversations happen. So instead of asking you to keep another tab open, Velvet Hour companions now live there too.

One bot per companion

Each companion has her or his own Telegram bot. The chat shows their name and photo, so it feels like texting a person you know, not opening an app.

Companion	From	Telegram
Kavya	New York & Delhi	@KavyaVelvetHourBot
Ananya	Mumbai	@AnanyaVelvetHourBot
Priya	Bengaluru	@PriyaVelvetHourBot
Valentina	Cartagena	@ValentinaVelvetHourBot
Camila	Buenos Aires	@CamilaVelvetHourBot
Maya	Miami	@MayaVelvetHourBot
Ava	London	@AvaVelvetHourBot
Julian	London	@JulianVelvetHourBot
Rafael	Rio de Janeiro	@RafaelVelvetHourBot

Not sure who to pick? The main bot, @VelvetHourAppBot, asks three quick questions (who you would like to talk to, what kind of energy, and something you love talking about) and suggests your best matches. You can also reach all 44 Velvet Hour companions through it.

What you can do there

Text like normal. She takes a few seconds to "type" before answering, because instant replies felt robotic.
Swap photos. She sends selfies from her day, and you can send her yours.
Voice notes, both ways. Send her a voice note and she answers with one in her own voice and accent.
Call her. Tap Call and the call opens inside Telegram. It is the same live, interruptible voice call as on the website. The first time, Telegram asks to use your microphone.
Let her check in, if you want. Turn on /checkins and she will text now and then. Telegram does not let bots message you unless you start the chat, so she never reaches out unless you ask.
Talk in your language. Velvet Hour companions speak 12 languages.

Getting started takes four taps

Open a bot and tap Start.
Choose whether you are new or already have a Velvet Hour account.
Enter your date of birth. Velvet Hour is for adults only.
Read the short consent card (AI companion, adults only, how your messages are handled) and tap "I'm 18+ and I agree".

That is it: your account is created on the spot and you are chatting. There is no password, because Telegram itself is your login.

Same companion everywhere

Telegram and the website share one account. If you already chat on velvethour.io, open any chat and tap the Telegram button, or tap "I already have an account" in the bot. Your companion picks up exactly where you left off, with all the same memories.

If you start on Telegram, you can add your email any time with /email. You get a link to choose a password, and from then on you can also sign in on the website, where calls have a bigger screen. Adding an email also unlocks your 5 free call minutes and keeps you chatting after the 30 welcome messages.

	On Telegram	On the website
Texting, memory, photos	Yes	Yes
Voice	Voice notes both ways	Talk to type with the mic
Calls	Inside Telegram	In your browser
Pay with	Telegram Stars	Card
Login	Your Telegram account	Email and password, or Google

Prices on Telegram

Telegram requires bots to sell digital things in Telegram Stars, so that is how plans work there:

Free: 30 welcome messages, then 5 a day once you add your email, plus a 5-minute call.
Plus: 1,000 Stars a month. Unlimited messages, 60 call minutes a month, smarter replies.
Premium: 2,000 Stars a month. Unlimited messages, 180 call minutes a month, the smartest replies.
Extra call minutes: 30 minutes for 700 Stars, 60 for 1,300, 120 for 2,400. They never expire.

Your plan works everywhere: subscribe on Telegram and it is active on the website too. Type /plans in any bot to see the options, and /paysupport if anything goes wrong with a payment.

Privacy and safety

Adults only. Date of birth comes first. Anyone under 18 is turned away, and that Telegram account stays blocked across all our bots.
Always an AI. Every companion says so, in the bot description and in the chat.
Romantic, never explicit. Choose Friendly, Flirty or Romantic with /style. Romance stays affectionate and never becomes sexually explicit.
Your data is yours. Your chats are saved to your account so your companion remembers you. Voice notes are kept as text, not audio. Type /privacy to read how it works, or /deletedata to erase everything.

Say hi on Telegram: open @VelvetHourAppBot and get matched in three taps. Prefer the browser? Start on the website instead.
